Connect your own domain
Point a domain you own at your site with DNS records or nameservers, then make it your main address.
When your plan includes custom domains, open Settings → Domains in your site's admin and add the domain. You can connect it in one of two ways.
| Method | What you do |
|---|---|
| DNS records | Keep your current DNS host. Add the TXT record and the CNAME record shown on the Domains screen. |
| Nameservers | Add the TXT record at your current DNS host, then change the domain's nameservers at your registrar to the ones shown. Justflows then hosts the DNS for the domain. |
Step by step with DNS records
- Add the domain under Settings → Domains.
- At your DNS host, add a TXT record named
_justflows.yourdomain.comwith the value shown. This proves you own the domain. - Point the domain at the CNAME target shown on the screen.
- Click Check now, or wait: pending domains are checked every few minutes.
Switching nameservers
Before you change nameservers, copy your email (MX) and other DNS records. Your old DNS host stops answering once the switch is done. After the domain is verified you can manage MX, TXT, A, AAAA, CNAME, CAA, and SRV records yourself on the Domains screen. The records that serve your website cannot be changed.
Make it your main address
Once connected, make the domain your primary address. Turn on Send visitors to the custom primary domain to redirect your Justflows address there. Your admin keeps working on the address you opened it on, so you can still sign in if the domain ever breaks.
