Publish your site when you are ready
Why visitors see an under-construction page, and how to open your site to the world.
A new site starts private. While it is private, visitors who are not signed in see an under-construction page. You, and anyone with an editor or administrator account, still see the real site, so you can build in peace.
Make the site public
- Sign in to your site's admin.
- Open Settings.
- Turn on the setting that makes the site public, and save.
Check the result in a private browser window, where you are not signed in. That is what your visitors see.
Search engines
Settings also has an option that asks search engines not to index the site. It controls your site's
robots.txt. Leave it on while you are still building, and turn it off when you want to be found.Still need help?
